Check Engine/Misfire
Hey Guys,
I went on vacation across country and up and down the coast of California, which I must say was incredible. I left my car and rented one for a few weeks but when I got back started my car, It started kind of rough and got a check engine light. Misfire Cyl 2 & cyl 5. I cleared the codes and engine runs fine check engine light doesn't come back on
When I went on a road trip last summer, the same thing happened just different cyl. Is this normal for these cars when sitting for a while or is this something that I should look into with my car. Plug have less than 10k on them since i put them in so I know for a fact its not them.

When I got my Is250, engine code was flashing for misfire. cylinder 1 was the culprit. Took out the spark plugs and saw it very dirty. Cleaned it off and erased the code. Code didnt come back. All of my spark plugs on the passenger side were dirty.
I eventually changed out the spark plugs. I have not received the code back yet though I have a engine code for O2 sensor on the passenger side..
I know this dosent answer your question but just another case to this.

OP, do you have an IS250? How many miles? Any hint at having the carbon build-up issues that many others have? I've seen in some cases where carbon deposits can become dislodged and get attached to the spark plug causing issues. Try pulling the plugs like the above member said, and see what you've got. If dirty black or wet with fuel/oil, then you've got problems.

Yeah I have an 06. the Carbon buildup Recall was done at 68k and the car is now at 97k. I will try to pull the plugs tomorrow and see whats up. I replaced the plugs in between the first time it happened and the most recent time it happened so thats what makes me wonder. the car drives perfect though, even after the code appeared.
