Default 2jzge tranny on 2jzgte

so i recently bought a 2003 IS300 and i love it. however being the power junky i am i want to swap in a 2jz gte. this is the first time ever working on the JZ engines and i was wondering if the non turbo tranny would work with the new turbo engine.. any input? Thanks everyone

Yes the auto or 5spd will work... The 5spd will be a ticking time bomb depending on your boost levels. Auto wise you'll need a valve body upgrade on the auto and you'll still be limited to lower boost.

In ummary just bite the bullet niw and do an r154 or getrag if you want to make serious power.

is it just that the transmission cant hold the power for the 2jz.... i have a 5spd. and off the bat i dont want to push too much power as i want to get used to a boosted rwd manual haha but yes eventually i want to push a whole lot of boost

I blew up a w55 and w58 back in 2005 on 12-14psi. Lol. Then I went to marlin crawler r154 and sky was the limit.
