20" wheels on stock IS250 AWD
Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and I'm in need of your help. I have a 2006 Lexus IS250 AWD with stock suspension. I just bought 20" wheels, 8.5 wide, 38 offset all around. Since my car is on stock suspension and wheels aren't staggered, I was wondering what tire is recommended. I was thinking 245-35-20, but not so sure if it will rub.
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Lexi90

You're gonna have rubbing issues up front with thise tire sizes but I know in an AWD you're supposed to have a square setup. I'm not sure what to tell you. Hopefully some AWD owners can help you out.
I had 225/30/20 and 255/30/20 but that was a staggered setup. That won't work for you.

I think 30 height is what people use for 20'' wheels, 35 is too tall. For 8.5, 235/30/20 would make the most sense to me. 235 is still meaty and comfortable while avoiding any potential rubbing on stock height.
If you are think of lowering, I would recommend at least 225 in the front. I learned this the hard way.

Thanks for replying guys. I was told at the shop to use 225-35-20 since my car is stock in terms of suspension. Does this sound right? I know he also mentioned using 235/245-30-20, but in my opinion I think those tires are low for the potholes we got in CT.

I had the exact same wheel specs you did, I was in the same boat didn't want to lower my car due to poor road conditions in the area. The tire size u need is 225/35/20 you will have minor rub but only on the inner plastic fender parts just get a heat gun and push them back takes 10min max. Any more questions direct message me as I rarely check the boards now days
