Saddest day of my life, will miss you Clublexus :-(
Well as most of you know , I have sold my car finally to someone who is equally passionate about a Lexus. He just loved my car at first glance and wanted it so bad. I just gave the car to him 2 hours back after finishing all the bank and transfer formalities and I miss my car already. My baby had done just 65,000 Kms in 4.5 years and is still like brand new.
I had to sell my beauty since I'm leaving the country for good and I can't take it along with me to my native since it's a left hand drive car. Another issue is there is no Lexus dealership in my country hence I may have to just settle with either a BMW , Audi or Merc. This does not mean I will not visit this wonderful forum again ,but I may just not be as active.
The only problem I had with my car was that it was associated with a totally incompetent dealership and that was the only sore point in my entire ownership experience with such a lovely machine.
I'm going to miss 2IS picture game thread the most ( where I have just been dethroned ) and also the DIY threads for Oil and Filter changes and all the other scores of useful and highly informative threads here.
Going to miss you all so bad Here are some parting shots.

Unfortunately it's true. Lexus is not there. I have no idea why they haven't yet, considering how much money the german trio are raking in due to their absence.
India is dominated by diesel engines and all the 3- Merc , BMW and Audi have many diesel engines. This could be one reason for their absence from the Indian scene.
Lexus does have one diesel engine in the UK in the IS 220D but I'm not sure how successful it is there.

Best of luck! Another option down the road is ship a lexus from the uk or austrailia to India. That way its right hand drive, order your parts from Sewell Lexus and you will be ballin! No one else will have that vehicle in your country

Yes I was considering this option initially but the problem is with the high import tax % , which is actually 150% the value of the car. Means I have to pay tax more than double the value of the car to just import it .

A BMW 3 series is slightly cheaper since they have a manufacturing plant in India , hence avoiding the hefty import charges , still they do not pass this advantage to the customer for obvious reasons.
A BMW 3 series costs 42,00,000 Rs ( which is 67,000 $ ) on road price after road tax . This is the mid variant btw.
The Merc and Audi cost around 45,00,000 ( 75,000 $ )
