Hey anyone have any insight why this happen I did coolant flush over a week ago everything was fine than Saturday I hear loud grinding noise water pump goes. Is it just coincidence WTH??

Did you use Toyota coolant? I have an 07 also, and my water pump failed around the same time as yours. They are known to fail prematurely. Probably just a coincidence that it happened around the same time you flushed your coolant. lol

Yea I used toyota coolant. I know that's just crazy lol. I'm glad it went anyways while under warranty.

i saw your other thread and it sounded more like a WP pulley issue. I would say its more of a coincidence. Chances are it was probably already going bad and fresh fluid could have had it running at peak performance which it probably haven't seen for a while. Ive noticed that cars that are close to 100k, its probably best to just change the water pump same time you do coolant flush

Just make sure if you didn't get the premix solution, use DISTILLED water to mix it. My friend has an 03 camry and used faucet/tap water to combine with toyota coolant. It later destroyed his radiator and thermostat due to the minerals contained in faucet/tap water.

WTH are you talking about? Giving out misinformation? The 2IS uses "Super Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant " with a big Warning "DO NOT ADD WATER" on the label.

Depends on which one you get. The premixed one is as you stated with "Do Not Add Water", but you can also get the full strength that requires you to dilute it prior to use. In that case, as he stated above you should use distilled water only as the minerals have all been removed.

I understand his comment about using distilled water. However, our cars required Super Long Life (Pink in Color) and i don't believe they come in concenctrated form. The link you posted is for Long Life Coolant (Red in Color) and require mixing prior to use. These are two completely different type of Coolants. IMHO, coolant is as important as oil and i will use whatever the manufacturer's required/recommended.

Older Toyota models (produced before August, 2003) used Toyota Long Life Coolant, which is red and is sold in concentrate. Models produced after that (of which all 2IS models are) use Toyota Super Long Life Coolant, which is pink and only sold premixed. (50/50 in the USA and 55/45 in Canada).

His point was mostly that there is only one type of coolant available for the 2IS from Toyota, and it only comes pre-mixed. If you got non-diluted coolant, you got the wrong coolant.
