Oil changes are super easy to do yourself. But if I had to choose between the two, I would go which ever is cheaper. Both dealerships have certified mechanics and they should know how to do a simple oil change.
So you are paying lexus to swirl up your paint? I find it hard to believe they fill the gas on cars they service. Which dealer if you don't mind me asking. They must be charging up to 100+ for service , or they are pumping your car up with old gas.
I've changed the oil myself in all of my vehicles for years. The IS however, I will be taking to Lexus for oil changes until the expiration of my carbon build up warranty.....that way there is no questions if I need to use it. Subarus are known for spinning bearings....I have had a couple friends denied their warranty claims when their engines spun a bearing because they could not provide proof of oil changes and since I always lose receipts I'm covering my butt.
