I however tried to remove the nut where it says the adjustment should be made and that thing is not going ANYWHERE (not the nut...the wiper arm) haha. It's alright. I have an appointment on Monday to adjust it and throw the OEM wipers on there.
You probably have to remove the wiper arm and then reset it. Most of these wiper arms have slots to prevent slippage. I guess you are bring it to the dealer anyway so they will fix fix it for sure.
By the way, I am pretty sure you don't want to have no rain like us here in CA. I cant even wash my cars because we have drought advisory;(
I have never had problems with Latitude wipers. I have been using those and the Icons on all of my vehicles without any problems for quite some time and with my experience there is NO difference between the two.
Also, I did say that the previous wipers that were on there did the same exact thing.....so that leads me to believe it is not the wipers themselves but the adjustment.
It is possible the RainX have improved since my experience with them. When the first came out they were the only real competition to the Icons with no other beam style-blades on the market. I tried them and installed many of them. The rubber on them seemed hard and not very flexible and wouldn't really clear the windshield as well as the Icons I was used to. Also, the universal pack of connectors that they came with never really appealed to me, and really didn't look nice on the vehicle IMO. The Icon slips on and even has a little cover to snap over it to keep the lines clean.
As for you being jealous of the lack of rain: I was excited when we moved here because of that. The downside is that it is usually so dry/windy that your car is almost always coated in a sheen of dust. I thought I'd wash my car/detail it in Spring and be done with it until Winter when the rainy season hits. Nope. Once or twice a week the car needs washed.
Ok I'm not jealous of that. For about a month we have to deal with yellow cars from pollen like I've never seen, but once it goes away we are golden.....haha no pun intended
stay with oem because I think it sits lower than aftermarket. I've had mine replaced 3 years ago and still working, they must have used high quality rubber or something, btw socal climate is not extreme like other states.
I noticed that on mines after I did the wiper arm recall. It bothered me for a while, then I just ignore it.
I envy your ability to ignore! Lol
