Lightbulb '08 IS250 | LCD Dash Upgrade |

Greetings all,

I am a first time and new owner of a used '08 IS250. I have an upcoming project to upgrade my current climate control/radio center console to a full color LCD touch screen.

My questions is, can I purchase the whole LCD unit and install, or do I need to purchase additional hardware such as GPS, wiring, electronics. Also, has anyone done this project before that can give me a heads up. Any info is much appreciated.

PS: I uploaded an image to give a clear picture what I want to do (left is my current, right is what I want to do)
I am new here and this is my first post, pleas bear with me as i tried to read all rules/regulations first

kind regards to all.

Welcome to CL.

You can find a lot of information on this by searching for "flyaudio"

Are you going for an OEM unit or aftermarket?

^Do the buttons along the side of the screen still work or does the LEDs light up when pressed? If so, you probably just need to replace the screen. <$200 DIY job.

My touch screen just doesn't work. It's stuck at start up menu. And yes I am able to press the buttons on the side such as: Climate, Audio, Disp, Info buttons, etc. Just can't change the settings since the touch screen doesn't work. Digitizer might be shot. I would love to hear on how I can fix this myself. Let me know where to get the info and parts from and I will get on it. Thanks.

OEM has some vehicle integration so an OEM wont work on a non nav car with out a custom harness. its almost easier to buy the flyaudio one because its plug and play

Thanks for the heads up, I was wishing OEM, but if flyaudio is the way to go without any issues (and not losing functionality). My worries were losing functionality as the LCD will be replacing not only radio/cd but navigation and climate control

flyaudio only replaces the top part so you keep the OEM CD player plus AM/FM/SAT buttons. The only thing you actually lose is the clock on the front screen but there are plenty of places on the screen
