Lightbulb Moisture Cover Headlight/ LED DRL / Front Dome Light size

HELLO!

Thanks to everyone for helping me install my HID FOG lights on the IS. I was able to install the HID kid with a relay harness. Took some major skills to wire the harness through all the stuff so I could get to the fog light on the driver side.

I had three questions to ask you smart members and I was hoping you could help me.

First off, I have halogen lights in the IS and I wanted to change to 55W HID's.
I know that many people drill holes in their moisture cover and run the HID bulb through. But my question is, do we even need the moisture cover?

My old Toyota had no moisture cover, just direct access to the bulb. Of course there is the plastic gromet around the bulb that prevents moisture, but is the actual black moisture cover that covers the bulb needed? Or can I still run the HID kit without it?

It seems like an added accessory, like the gigantic black cover that covers most of the engine parts.

Secondly, does anyone know if there are LED DRL's that have a high beam feature? Like most people, I'm sick of the yellow DRL's. But I know this is my high beams and I like to use them to signal people or blind vampires.

LASTLY , I want to change my interior bulbs to led's. One question I had was the FRONT DOME bulb. There seems to be different LENGTH sizes of the 194 bulb. Samsung has one that is 1.75 and other forums suggest that the bulb is smaller than this. If I bought a taller bulb, would it fit the covering or does the current bulb that is in there now barely fit?

THANKS!!!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated

yes you do need the moisture cover or the headlight will fog up the HID bulb will have a rubber piece to cover the hole to run the wire through the cover and just go with 35Watt HID it will last longer i know 55Watt is brighter but in the long run they will not last that long...for the LED DRL yes you will lose high beam function so if you want to keep high beam then you can ask dealer to turn off DRL. for the interior just get the exact fit led panel there much brighter

I agree go with 35W. The oem lens not recommend to put to high wattage bulbs. 5000k is good.
194 forward facing LED is good. Just match the size of the existing one

Oops.

Hello!

So I was able to make a 1 inch hole in the plastic covers and fit the grommet through.

I have to say my headlights are as good as the new beemers. They omit light so well and give that factory OEM look.
