I just had staggered 19" wheels installed on my awd is250. I have 235/35/19 front tires and 275/30/19 rear tires. The car now shakes around 60 when accelerating and decelerating. I brought the car back to check wheel balance and alignment but the tire shop says they think it's a transmission problem due to the awd.

Are the hub centric? If not you will need a hub ring to fit the rim snug on the hub? Also did you have the vibration before?

Hub rings are installed. I had a slight vibration before that was the common awd vibration from being lowered. The mechanic checked everything and he thinks I'm just feeling the vibration more now because of the wider tires

I didn't think you could do staggered on AWD setups...

The rolling diameter of each wheel is different, and I'm not sure what the +/- allowable by the transfer case is allowed in this car, but you may have exceeded the allowable amount.

Not real familiar with the AWD systems in the Lexus, but I know for BMW and Audi different sizes are a no no..

EDIT:

Bah NVM... Those two sizes are only about 1.6mm difference in rolling diameter, or .08% which isn't really big enough to cause the AWD system to fight against each other.

Did you get the wheels used? Are they true, or have they maybe whacked a pothole or two?

Sounds like you have lowered and staggered wheel AWD issues. These models with AWD with mods such as coils/spring and larger/staggered wheel setups quite commonly have issues related to the suspension geometry and the way it provides feedback in the steering wheel. Also read that the CV joints tend to wear quickly and end up needing replacement ALOT sooner.

Are the tires new or used? Just wondering I know when I ran 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 on my awd 250 I never vibrated at 60. I did get a little wobble on take off sometimes but that was about it.

Tires and rims are both new. It's more of a vibration when decelerating from high speeds.

I have a 09awd with 235/35/19 front tires and 275/30/19 rear tires and i have no vibration i have ran 265 in the rear with no vibration either. I do have the Hub rings also. I wouldn't think it would be a transmission problem or it would do it with any wheels in theory.

I remember I ordered 60.1 hub centric rings and the package said 60mm. I was told it's the same thing? I believe it was 60.1/60mm ID. Does that matter?

I know this might be a stupid idea, but a loose or warped rotor? I HIGHLY doubt that but just another thing to check. Had that issue on a Nissan but not a Lexus.

I have an 07 awd is250 with the exact same issue. 235/35/19 up front and 275/30/19 in the rear. had these on for about 2 weeks, I'm about to sell them

Did any of you find a solution? Im having a hard time enjoying my new rims.. running 19's on 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 on a 06 IS250 AWD. Slight vibration as well its annoying the crap outta me.

What makes you so sure? Were you running a similar setup and then it went away after the new rotors were installed? Il get rotors asap if thats the case just want to be sure thats the problem.
