Transmission issue, Code P0751
Searched and found almost nothing on this, and yes I did read the thread from another member about his same issue, it still had little information.
Basics: 2008 IS250 RWD, 65,000 Miles.
New transmission is $2800 + Labor from Lexus.
Does anyone have any info regarding this? I understand the solenoid sits inside the transmission. Can they be purchased and replaced? Or will I be needing a full rebuild?

- Car will only shift up to 3rd gear
- Pulled code P0751 - Shift solenoid A stuck in OFF (I think?)

i had kind of a similar issue. mine would shift down on its own with the throttle steady. i would drive about 30mph and car would shift 2nd to 3rd then right a away shift back to 2nd with out steping on gas. i work at a toyota dealership and the mechanics a scan tool and i belive that code pulled up.. so they checked and there was a TSB. so all my car needed was a computer reflash and update to a new version and that fixed it.

The solenoids can be replaced inside of the tranny. Its a dirty job. If you have to pay for the labor you might as well just buy a used tranny from a junkyard as it will likely be cheaper than opening up your tranny, replacing solenoids and hoping it fixes the issue(s). :/

that what i did, temporary fix for me but it came back 2 days later. I unplugged the battery and plugged it back in..
Mine used to get stuck in third gear. Now its stuck in 4th. Better I guess. Hoping mine wont crap out on me within the next 2 months. Gonna finish school before I fix the problem.

I was quoted $2100 for rebuild with 12-months warranty.
Does that sound pretty reasonable?

My transmission guy won't warranty a used junkyard transmission. He will only warranty if it he rebuilds it himself. Which is reasonable to me. He said $400 labor if he installs a used tranny, $2100 if he rebuilds.
