Parkig brake to handbrake conversion?
Can it be done? Was trying to slide my IS around a week ago with just traction control off and driving in circles until my rear wheels lost traction, lost traction 3 times but figured it'd be easier if I had a handbrake instead even though I don't have a clutch. Has anyone done this before?

Extend the parking brake with some control arm and handbrake stay on the left hand side? No i think this is silly. I find the parking brake in our car more convenient than the hand brake. I'm so used to it that sometimes i drive other car and i keep pressing down my left leg thinking there is a parking brake there when there isn't lol.

One of my least favorite features of the IS is the foot parking brake. Every other car I've owned had a hand brake (though it is worth noting all those cars were manual transmission Mustangs).

It can be done mechanically if you can secure a solid mounting location near the center console. The lines can be altered to reside there vs the footwell but you're time is going to spent mounting a handbrake and then cleanly finishing a console to house it. I speak from experience. Good luck!
