06 IS250 Transmission issue
Hey CL I need some help. I tried searching for a similar thread but I couldn't find anything, if this has already been discussed please point me in the right direction.
My friend has a 2006 IS250 with 190,000 miles on it and she has been having some transmission issues. She has taken it to her mechanic who has opened up the transmission and changed some clutches and other various parts and It seemed to be ok for about 500 miles. But then the problem returned. What happens is at freeway speeds the car doesn't up shift to a high enough gear. She will be driving 50 and the RPMs are over 5000. I was with her when It happened once and I was able to shift in the Manual mode. It shifted fine all the way up to 6th in manual mode, So its not a matter of not being able to shift. Maybe it has to be a computer problem? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in Advance.

Shift solenoid is one thing to look into. Another thing is toyota has a TCU flash reset at most dealerships that have helped with issues like this. something else to look into.
and kudos to your friend for having an IS250 running all the way to 190k
