Default Changed the look of my new Lexus.... thoughts?

Hey guys, I posted a thread a few weeks ago when I first purchased my Lexus IS250. This is my first Lexus, and really first car in a long time. I have been driving trucks for quite a while. That being said, was looking for better MPG for a daily driver.

I have always been a "Toyota Guy" so looking at a Lexus was a no brainer. Found the 250 and kinda fell in love with the luxury it offered compared to my truck. So I bit the bullet. Was a bit concerned it was a "chick car", so I knew I had to do a few things to try and toughen it up a bit, without getting too ricey. Im 34 now, and not really into the whole racing, etc stuff anymore. I wanted to keep it classy at the same time.

Give me your thoughts, what do you think? I tinted the windows, added spacers and plasti dipped the wheels and badges all the way around. Still look good or teenager / ricey? At first I hated it, but after a few days its growing on me a little.

Welcome I would not plasti dip that just me. You can add a fsport sway bar best bang for the buck for first mod.

The best mod you've done is the titleist license plate frame

Ha, im an AVID golfer... that was first thing I did

and I did the plastic dip just so I could see if I liked it or not. I figured it was better than going powder coat and haiting it... At least if i hate this, i can take it off... if I love it, I can get it done for good.

i think it would look good with a drop and the powdercoat, then you could get a roof and trunk spoiler, i think that would make it look like a manly man car.

how many cans of Plasti-Dip did you use? I am seriously thinking of doing it too....cheap alternative to custom rims right now.

Where in TX are you?

What do you mean not getting too ricey. After all, Lexus is an Asian auto maker. LOL.

Well I bought 3 cans of the grey and 2 of the glossifier. The first 2 rims I did, I took them off the car and painted the back side completely first, then the front. Used almost 2 cans and I only had 3. So I was afraid I was going to run out before I got to the other side of the car complete. So I did the other side with them still on the car and just covered up my brakes, etc.

so I need to buy 1 more can and remove those 2 rims and do the backside. Not like they show, its just something that I KNOW and bothers me.

and Im in the Arlington/Mansfield area.

Cool....I am in McKinney

Did you pull the rims off to do it, or just do it with them still on the car?

Congrats on the new IS. Good job with the plasti-dip and wheels.

IMHO my first mods would be springs or coil overs, sway bar set. Then exhaust and intake. Then rims, JDM visors, roof spoiler, illuminated door sills and body kit.

After a few mods, you'll start to enjoy the IS more and more.

Good luck with the mods.
