I only noticed cam gear cold rattle noise once awhile now Im at 61k miles. If the dealer willing to fix it . Would I let them.. The thing is they were just took the engine apart and had put it back now I dont think it is good take it apart again to fix the xam gear. I plan to keep this car dor a long time.

all they do is take apart the valvetrain, the top part of the engine. The engine isnt removed. Just let them fix it, it was a $1600 repair otherwise

Why should you not allow the dealer to fix it?

I agree - don't fix it and it'll destroy your engine eventually.

yeah this was a TSB for the is250, and a recall for the is350/gs350. why not let the dealership do it for free?

Uhmm I talked with them today! They gonna let the car stay over night if they can duplicate the problem.. They said they have to hear it. Problem is my car is IS250 2007 and i barely out of warranty but I talked to the service manager i told him that back in couples years I did brought my car in for repair but somehow they dont do it .
Probably maybe they cant hear the rattle . Thats when my warranty still active.. I told the manager that and he said he will check my services history.. Are there are TSB i can show them on my IS250? Thanks again!

Quick question do you warm up your car before you leave or do you just hop in and just go? Because that is one the main reasons why you will need to get it replaced.

I just waited for my dealer to do about 600 cars, then I let them do mine. I figured by then the risk of dumb mistakes might be lower.

For the people that got the tsib done and had no problems since. Is it worth getting the recall done and risk something going wrong?
