Castrol Edge, Castrol Edge, Castrol Edge. Best oil for our cars. Its what the dealer recommends and if you have the cam gear rattle, you won't hear it with this oil. 5w20 is what our cars call for since the TSB.

Mobil 1 5w20, '06 IS350 141,000mi., no problems. pick one and stick to it. all the oils have their own special additives, they are all good, just pick one and stick to it. Look up Lake Speed jr., he is an oil specialist for Joe Gibbs Racing, he has been on some pretty interesting podcasts about synthetic vs. conventional. Hi zinc contents for engine break in, rubber seals on a new engine getting "broken in" with one oil and then changing to another oil and getting oil leaks, etc. My $.02

Does this TSB apply to the IS250 as well? Does this TSB only apply to a certain year and newer model? I saw an oil recommendation chart on bobistheoilguy.com which shows 5w20 for '09(or possibly '10 cant remember) and newer engines only.

That TSB only says all 06 models. Can anyone confirm 5w20 is now recommended for other years? I have an 09 and now am unsure about which oil to use

I also noticed this TSB is dated 2006. I would think it would not affect later models, which would have correct oil listed in the owner's manual. For instance, my 2009 is250 came out three years after this TSB, and lists 5w30 in the owner's manual. Please let me know if i'm missing something.

I think you are right. It doesn't seem to effect other years. After looking at the manuals for every year, it seems 5W-30 is recommended for 2006-2010. For years 2011 and up, it requires 0W-20.
