Default Gun Metal Plasti Dip rims?

I just recently purchased a Pearl White IS250 and really dig the gun metal rims/pearl white look of the FSport and was thinking of plasti dipping my rims to see if it would get that look. And if I didnt like it, easy to reverse vs. getting powder coated.

My question is, I cannot find any of that gun metal plasti dip locally and will probably have to order it. But from the pics I see on the internet when I do a good search, it looks a little off from the Fsport grey color.... but maybe its just me, or my monitor or whatever..

Im curious for anyone who has tried this... how does it look?

Especially with a pearl white? Id love to see a Pearl White with gun metal plasti dip rims

Don't do it, you will just end up wasting money. I did it on my obsidian IS and hated it, good thing is that you can remove it.

Matte black does look nice I know a couple people that have done it. I wish I would have done that, but in the mean time they are back to stock chrome. You can try anthracite gray, it sort of looks like the FSport color https://www.google.com/search?q=anth...w=1920&bih=979

It's exactly the same color i told you about in one of my earlier posts. I think it will look kind of like the gun metal you are looking to get, but I would recommend just powder coating them if you are really trying to color match it.

haha, you sure did. I somehow never even saw that earlier post. Probably would have saved me alot of internet searching today!!!

I went ahead and ordered 3 cans of the grey and 2 glossifiers... cost me about $66 but I figure it will give me a good idea if i like that or not. If I do, I can bite the bullet and have it done professionally, and if i do not... i can peel off and go back stock... Something I cannot do if I get it powder coated immediately!!

I am on the same boat. Either plasti-dip or getting it done professionally powdercoating. $200 for a set of 4 wheels or $300 with sand blasting. Still debating if I should paint them black or gunmetal.

Yes, that picture is what lead me to ordering the cans!! i thought it looked real good. Thats with the grey and glossfier on top of it. I think it looks real similar to the Fsport wheels.
