Thinking of purchasing my first Lexus - IS 250

Not sure if this will help you or not, but I was in a somewhat similar situation. I had a Tacoma with the full 4 door cab, and traded it in on a 2014 IS350. I have one kid, a 2 year old.
I do miss the utility of my truck, and the room it had. However, I do not for one second regret the decision. I am 4 months in and still having a blast with my IS. The 3IS does have a bigger back seat than a 2IS, but with kids, I think you'll be fine. Despite being smaller than the back seat of my truck, we find it perfectly comfortable for trips, both long and short. We do have an SUV to fall back on when more room is needed, but the IS suits us just fine.

A little off topic from the above. Although, i do respect all of your opinions about this car.
Anyways, I think this car is a good buy. Only thing I would complain would be the rear seat space and lack of storage space over at the center console. But, it really depends on your need. Golf club will definitely fit as well as child safety seat. There are sure different model/make you can decide on, perhaps the ES or GS?

well.... I bit the bullet and bought the IS250 last night. Took both my kids up there with me, we sat in it, test drove it, did everything I could think of and kids seemed to be happy with the space. The both really liked it alot.
The pearl white color really was even better in person than the pictures and what I had in mind. No joke, like 3-4 people were interested in buying it while I was there lol
Overall I'm really happy. Drove home from dealership and drove to work this morning... probably close to 50 miles and it barely even moved off of FULL... my truck would have used probably a quarter tank of gas!!!
Im still getting used to all the buttons... it took me and my son about 5 mins to figure out how to change the temp on the a/c heater last night lol... was looking for a button on the touch screen, then found the arrow buttons on the side.
Im still having an issue trying to figure out how to sync my contacts from my phone for bluetooth. Guess Ill have to do a little reading on that.
For right now, all I want to do is get the windows tinted... but my buddy is wanting me to plasti dip the rims and badges and stuff black already... uggh...

Nice car! I just want to add on the girl car subject. A lot of women do drive the IS but its not like a VW beetle or something. I believe a lot of women that drive them get input from their significant others as to what to buy. I know I pushed my wife into the IS when we bought ours and now 6 years later I am driving it. My neighbor down the street did the same thing, lol. Plus, its only girly if you don't have the factory wing.

Well I got my windows tinted yesterday. Im happy in the sense that it did make a noticable difference. Already looks better. But they wouldnt go "illegal" tint. I know that sounds bad, but I just wanted it a LITTLE darker. I got 25% on the 4 windows and 15% on the rear. I was hoping to get like 15-20 on all windows but they wanted an extra $100, cash, no receipt and no warranty so I opted to just keep it legit.
I also got a new bluetooth gateway thingy so I can stream audio from my phone now instead of just calls. And I ordered plasti dip for the wheels and badges, wheel spacers for the wheels.... now all thats left is the lowering springs!!
