Check VSC Light - need to replace transmission

IS transmissions are actually pretty decently priced used. AWD's you can get for about $700 used and RWD you can get for about 1200 used with decent mileage. The labor is a but intensive but collectively getting someone to do the work with some new parts here and there hopefully reusing alot of old parts should run you another 5-700 bucks. These are all independent shop prices and unwarranted work (however still good). If you want the warranty you gotta pay the extra for it from the dealership

Did the rebuild solve the problem
I experienced those symptoms for about 3 years. Slight jerking and all that was very minor.. as years gone by the transmission would jerk during shifting and accelerating at low speeds.
Once in a while it would get stuck in 3rd gear and when I came to a stop and go it would drive normal.. It kept doing this more and more often.. intermittent CEL going on and off..
Recently the CEL stayed on and the transmission would no longer shift passed 3rd gear. I would reset the ECU by unplugging the battery and plugging it back in and it would drive normal for about 30 mins before it would not shift passed 3rd again..
I was pretty sure the transmission was still good because it would drive normal after resetting the ECU but I took it in and my mechanic took apart the transmission and it was pretty f'd..
So, its currently getting rebuilt and the damage is $1800 with warranty.
So, IMO all of you experiencing these problems... be prepared!
Lets see how it drives after gettiing rebuilt, I know rebuilt transmissions will never drive/feel the same.

I personally would ride out the transmission as long as possible... depending on how many miles are highway and city... would depend on the life of the tranny.. i feel alot of stop and go traffic can kill a trans 100k. alot of highway miles can keep the trans good working order for 200k... we really never know....
regardless you can get a warrentied transmission with low mileage http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-Lexus-GS350-Automatic-Transmission-75K-OEM-LKQ-86108490-/311348522108?fits=Make%3ALexus%7CModel%3AIS350&hash=item487dd16c7c&vxp=mtr
i belive lexus chargers 8 hours to swap the trans... at about 110$ + tax per hour.
so give or take a few $2000 for warrentied work... worst case your transmission does go out.. at least this is what i plan on doing... if worst comes to worse...
With loaner to get you to wear you need to be.... sensors ect. ect. are temporarily fixes that are only delaying the inevitable.
Torque converter replacement ect. comes with a new lower mileage transmission... then replacing old parts in a high mileage transmission...
im at 143k miles on a 06 is350 transmission seems to be running okay.. jerky at times but no light (knock on wood) i really only drive it on the highway. i may try and get a fluid change even tho its sealed. to help prolong it.

I also had the pistons redone on my car under factory warranty and about 4 months after that I am having the same problems on the car.
My car is also a 2006 IS 250 and has 148,000 miles on it.

I am now getting this P2757 CEL. It may have been happening for a while, but I didnt realize it til I fixed my evap issues.
I have no issues jumping in and replacing a solenoid, but for $200 a pop, I want to make sure I order the right one, and the parts guys at the stealership cant, or wont, tell which it is and the names of the parts in their computer dont correlate to the error code description.
I did get a PDF parts diagram which shows 9 solenoids, part numbers and quantities are 35210 x2, 35240 x4, 35280 x1, and 35290 x1.
Can anyone verify which one I need to order?
Also, once I drop the pan, do I need to remove the valve body, or can the solenoid be replaced in the trans?
Thanks

2006 IS 250 VSC light
I've been having same issues with VCS LIGHT coming on and off for about 5 months at 135 k miles. Took it to dealer and it's the transmission code. I had several recalls like everyone else. Just curious why the light comes off and on. It drives fine. With all the posts...seems like the this is a common issue and hopefully they do a recall. But for now replacing the converter could be the best option and go from there. Any suggestions?

Same light indications but no serious problems yet. 2008 IS250 AWD, 145K. About 4 months ago I got a check engine light & VSC and maybe a traction control light. the one with the car and the little squiggly line behind the tires. I got to my destination and turned the car off. After the car sat for a few hours, when I turned it on and went on my way it had cleared itself. The VSC light only has come back about 2 more times since then. I was not able to read the code since the car had cleared itself. Not sure how thats possible but it did.
I too have the problem when you accelerate and then come to a quick stop (trying to beat a yellow light then realize you won't make it, or coming off the highway and having to stop at a red light on the off ramp). I have taken it in to the dealership for the carbon billed up twice but each time they say the can't reproduce the problem so they just send me on my way.

I'm curious, how many of you that are over 100K and having issues have changed//flushed your trannyfluid previously?
I know Lexus/Toyota says it's a lifetime fluid but it should be changed//flushed every 100K miles, at the most.

I have 76k on my 2008IS350. I change transmission oil and casket. Transmission jerk at 5 minute after warm up, but ok after driving 30 minute.
