Default Oil Filter Wrench

So I was paying ~$100 to $120 for oil changes at my local Lexus dealer and decided to start doing them myself. I got a couple boxes of 5W-30 Mobil 1 Synthetic from Costco on sale and will by buying filters and other parts from Sewell.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has found a good oil filter wrench for the Lexus IS? Where did you buy and what brand because I am about to buy a wrench.

THANKS!

A fancy one from the dealer for more than $75 or a genetic one from your local autoparts stores for $15 would work.

Exactly. This is what you want to do. No worries after that.

This is the one I recently bought from amazon for $15. Haven't used it yet, but I'm pretty sure it fits.

The past 4years I've had my IS I've just used a pipe wrench along with a towel wrapped around the housing. No signs or any scratching or digging thanks to the towel. Works totally fine for me, and a pipe wrench is quite cheap compared to the specialty wrenches. My .02 lol.

assenmacher one is good, get a 15/16" socket if you need a stronger way to get it off. It also seems to fit a lot of honda/acura filters as well

Used one of these after i read people having jamming problems with the real one.
Won‘t jam, but you need 2 hands. One to work the wrench and one to hold it in place. Once you get the hang of it, works fine

^This one. I've been using a pipe wrench w/ a towel, but this tool made it much more simple. A forum member suggested it in one of those wrench threads.
