Hi: Upgrading your high beam/DRL bulb to LED will get you the colour you're after, but the light output will not be very functional. We do carry 9005 LED bulbs to replace your stock bulbs, but I can't recommend them as a "functional" upgrade.

Here are some pictures of these bulbs installed in a Honda civic as DRL:

Coupon code "CLLED" will get you a 15% discount if you're interested in trying them out - just make sure to select the "DRL" option in the drop down.

Hi Steve,

I'm looking to upgrade both my DRL's and headlight HID's so the colors match bright white.

What do you mean by "I can't recommend them as a "functional" upgrade"? Will the DRL and highbeam be the same color output?

Thanks!

Hi,

Does your vehicle share the same bulb for high beam and DRL? If so, upgrading the DRL bulb to LED effectively changes out your high beam to LED. While LED replacement bulbs provide an awesome colour (especially a fan of 5000k), they do not provide a ton of useful light output - which is not good if you use your high beams a lot.

Hope this helps,

Steve

Are you certain it's the bulb?

It better be! Sometimes it flickers , then turns off, if I turn off my headlights off, then back on, it continues to work for a while. also appears dimer than my left bulb.

I always suggest to swap the bulbs to see if the problem follows the bulb just to be on the safe side.

You cannot go wrong with XenonDepot D4S HID Bulbs. The quality is fantastic, the price is great, and they are available in 5000k, 6500k and 8000k. ClubLexus members get a $20/bulb discount by using coupon code CLGB08 upon checkout.

If you're looking for an OE bulb, then definitely check out Philips D4S HID bulbs - same bulbs that are used in OEM HID applications.

Either way, keep in mind that your headlights may not match in colour if you only replace one bulb.
