Default Anyone else have these issues with their IS?

I started my car today in 65 degree weather, and as soon as the engine started up, there was a brief 1 second of something in my engine sounding like a grinding noise, or like a box of nails being shook. does anyone know what that might be? My car runs great, and I have no check engine light on.

Also, when I back out of my garage, and brake to put the car in drive, i hear a very noticable grinding noise coming from my rotors/brakes. this only lasts for the first 1 or 2 times i brake, then it almost seems my brakes warm up and the problem is solver. I have plenty of brake pad left, and there shouldng be anything wrong with my rotors. i was just wondering if i should be concerned?

The grinding noise is probably the cam gear recall. Brakes noise is normal with all cars.

ok, thanks, i was thinking i was being a bit too picky about the brake thing. will the cam gear need the service light to come on, or do i just let them know?

If its a recall then lexus should already know but if you suspect it has not been done remind your SA next time you are there.

I have the brake noise when the brakes are wet and I lightly brake. Otherwise, it's quiet.

The recall for the rattling noise is only for the IS350.

The cam gear recall should stil be covered for your car (if you have an IS350). My was done at 96K miles.

Brake noise is normal. Put some brake grease on the shims if you haven't do so. they might ran out.

My car is an 2006 as well. I dont think it is model year or mileage dependent. Register on Lexus Owner Resource and see if you car is qualified so the recall.

Cam gear was a TSB for 250s as well. Not sure if it was changed to full recall.

Ok--well, if the cam gear is still done on a TSB, you're probably out of luck. Worth a shot, though.
