Default Anyone DIY paint a front/back lip?

So i have access to an industrial paint sprayer, and was wondering:

If I got ahold of a half gallon or so of factory matched paint (obsidian black), could I use the sprayer to perform a professional paint job on a front lip? I am thinking of buying a lip off ebay, but would love to save the money and paint it myself if possible, while still wanting it to look factory perfect. Any thoughts?

It isnt hard... You have to make sure you cut it right. You need activator too... Set your sprayer to the finest mist possible for the first 2 coats. Then adjust it a little sharper and finish the part evenly. Dont stop moving while your finger is on the trigger. Good luck

thanks! what do you mean by "cut it right," and also, how does the activator process work? do i mix something in with the paint for "activiation," or something i put on before/after?

probably won't be for awhile, but i'm sure it will look great. as long as i get factory mached paint, get the correct activator, and apply plenty of coats. once it happens, i will definitely post a DIY.

A lot of members buy spray can to paint their lips and it doesn't look too bad.

Don't "practice" on your car if you don't know what you're doing. It won't look good and may have to end up paying to have the professionals do it all over. There's a saying, "do it right right the first time!"
