Yep - there is no other like em. I have Huskys for my hunting rig - and they just aren't the same quality.
OEM's aren't comparable. I live in the PNW - and sometimes getting in/out frequently in 1 day - can yield quite the build up of a water puddle. Weather techs keep the water off the floor.
I've had them in the past 4 rigs of ours - when we've sold them, the carpet underneath and surrounding - was brand new. Well worth $180

When I purchased my car used the PO had a dealer service ticket for a factory recall in regards to the "all weather mat" basically it started the same thing you described about the gas getting wedged by the bulky matts. From time to time I see on eBay sellers relocating the oem redesigned matts. It a problem but if you are keen you should be able to avoid it.

My only beef with the weathertech's I just got for my 06 GS is that the passanger side mat doesn't cover the entire floor pan. So if your passenger puts their legs all the way out it doesn't cover the carpet up towards the dash. A few years back when I had my other GS, when I would have the oil changed at the dealer, they would always take the drivers side matt out and put in in the trunk and leave a don't about the danger of the accelerator getting stuck.

Lexus brand weather mats have a hook near the seat to prevent that from happening. Did your mats have the hook on them? Ive had that happen on old cars where the mat bunches up under the brake pedal and i cant brake at all. Thats probably why your pedal got stuck You should probably look into either cutting a whole in your mats for hooks, or invest in a brand other than weathertech

We deal with up to 5 months of winter weather per year where I live, and with light beige carpeting, the weathertech floor liners have done a great job protecting the carpeting in that regard.

Weathertechs are designed like a "tub" that goes over your kick-pad to the left, and up the side walls. They are laser-designed - so in theory, thy mold to your floor as if they were carpet. I've had them in many different autos for many years - and they never slid around due to the lack of the loop. They stay put.
The problem that is occuring - is when people mash the gas pedal to the floor, and the end of the pedal goes beyond the weathertech mat. The pedal then sticks behind the mat. I've had to trim all of my weathertech mats just for peace of mind so that this doesn't happen. It takes 2 minutes with a pair of tin snips.
The brake pedal issue with the mat bunching up - you never have to worry about with weathertechs. They aren't mats - they are plastic tubs.
