Default IsX50 Cluster & GPS Differences?

Hi members!
I have a 2006 is350. I was wondering, throughout the years, are your GPS and Clusters different than the first 06 models?

There are 8 types of navigation system and 2 types of gauge cluster.

2006-2008 navigation systems are the same (Gen 5 DVD-based)
2009 navigation system is basically the same as 06-08, but the bezel is different (newer style)
2010-2012 navigation systems are the same (Gen 6 HDD-based)
2013 navigation system is all on it's lonesome (Gen 7 HDD-based)

For every type listed above there are versions with and without Mark Levinson.

The gauge cluster is the same for 06-10 and different for 11-13 (darker plastic and metallic rings around the gauges like the 08-10 IS F).

Hey Jeff, quick Q on the gauges. When i took apart my 09 gauge to do a LED swap, the LEDs for the needles were built into the PCB whereas the LEDs on the 06-08 gauges are built into the needle itself. Do you know if the P/N's for 06-08, 09-10, and 11+ are different for the gauges?

Thanks!

I never really looked too closely at the internal differences, just visually they looked the same.

There are different part numbers for 06-08, 09, 10, 11-12 and 13.

Huh, thats interesting. So hitting the info button on the steering wheel it never shows MPG? I never knew that was something only NAV cars had lol.

All years (06-13) have trip information on the gauge cluster multi-information display. If you cycle through the options using the "DISP" button on the steering wheel fuel information will be right after the outside temperature display.

Outside Temp. > Miles to Empty > MPG Since Reset > MPG Since Tank Refill > Current MPG > Average Speed

Just to add, if you hold down the DISP button while looking at MPG it will clear the old data.

Would this mean that clusters are interchangeable from the years?

I believe the wiring harness hasn't changed from 06-13. Just the mechanical and cosmetic updates throughout the years.

The cluster in the video above is from the 2014 IS X50 F-Sport, and is not plug and play.
