it seems like the ballast is the common issue for 2IS.

I would definitely suggest swapping the bulbs left to right to isolate what is causing the problem. There is no sense in purchasing a bulb, or ballast without first determining what you need. IF it is the bulb that you need, we carry both OEM Philips D4S HID bulbs, and aftermarket XenonDepot D4S bulbs - both of which we can get you a good deal on.

The other thing to consider is that if you are only changing one bulb, and your vehicle is still using the original bulbs, your headlights may not match in colour if you switch out one side only - just a heads up.

I have the same issue with my driver's side light bulb. They dealer said it's probably the ballast. I bought the car used and haven't changed the bulbs yet. I have a 2007 IS 250. Can someone post a link to a site to buy a set of HID bulbs for a reasonable price?? The dealer wants a ridiculous amount of $$ to fix. However, Toyota said if I bring in the bulbs, they will change them for me and just charge labor. My other option would be to buy the bulbs and then find a mechanic on Craigslist to change them for me. I have watch some of the DYI videos and photos and there's no way I could tackle that myself. Being a girl does sometimes have it's disadvantages!

To confirm you have HID bulbs from the factory right? If so you would need D4S HID bulbs, we have a few options available at different price points depending on what you need and your budget.

Keep in mind forum members get $20 off all XenonDepot D4S HID bulbs by using coupon code KBD4S.

THANK YOU! I'm ordering my bulbs (for both sides since it's happening to both now). I also read that I should replace the fuses also. Do you guys sell the fuses? If not, can you tell me what part number to Google so I can find some? I talked with Toyota and they said if I bring the bulbs and fuses in, they will replace them for me and then I only have to pay labor! Should save me a few $$$

Mine was the bulb as well. After having it changed, it's worked like a charm ever since. I notice this issue on a lot of cars that are around the same age as mine. Maybe this generation of HID lights was prone the failure.

This was happening to mine too. I have an 07 and the driver side went out a couple times. But after turning off the car and turning it back on, it came back on with no issues. Odd thing is it only happened a couple times. Has not been a problem for a couple months now.

Danny, thank you so much!! Purchased bulbs with the discount code for $80 and then Toyota only charged me $60 to install!!! So $140 total for BOTH sides!! Only thing now is my day time running lights are yellow-ish. Are there white bulbs I can buy? If so, can you point me in the right direction?! Thank you so much again!

Glad everything worked out, and that you're happy with the XenonDepot D4S HID bulbs - you cannot go wrong with these bulbs.

High beam/ DRL - For the best colour match, I would go with 9005 LED bulbs. However, these bulbs will primarily be cosmetic (not functional). If you want something functional, then I would go with a performance halogen bulb, but the colour match will not be perfect. Take a look at the 9005 Philips Crystal Vision bulbs if you decide to go this route.
