Default Michelin Pilot sport AS3 - IS250 AWD

Put those tires on the car two weeks ago.
Handling feels pretty good compared to the OEM bridgestone and cuts through water much better.
Snow capabilities is OK. The tires are still new.

Only issue I have is that they are a bit noisy. At around 110-120km/h there is a hum that is pretty annoying. Not sure if it is because of allignment on the car. Will get that checked out soon.

Thanks for the post. I'm in the market for new rubber so I'll be interested to read what you find out...

I loved the A/S 2. I'll take some noise for superb overall balance and true all season capabilities.

Thumbs down

I have the AS3 which are all Season and i got them from Sears. Well, i saw the rating for snow was i believe a 7 or 8 but i felt the tires in the snow are ****. really S H I T. I bought the car used at 40k miles and the tires were almost worn out and they were Dunlop sport 5000 and even though they were worn out, it gripped snow and ice so well, I lose traction like i'm ice skating in the AS3 tires for some reason.

P.S. I got a 08 IS250 AWD.

The wear pattern on the pilot sports is awful. Working in a tire shop I would have to say they aren't worth the price tag.

That's funny I feel the Dunlop 5000s are absolute ***** in the snow and ice. Horrible, so I'm looking at continental DWS set right now.

To be more fair the dunlops are ok in wet conditions, great in summer, but if it's below freezing they are scary for me. Ultimately I want dedicated steels and snow tires for winter.

Thats funny. lol. I agree with the Dunlop's not good in wet conditions but they were amazing in the snow for me.. and the tires were almost bald but they worked out well for me. I had to work to break traction int he Dunlop's but with the AS3's, i just have to give it slight gas and i'm power sliding everywhere lol.

In heavy snow it's fine I think. But if there's just a thin slick layer of crap they weren't great. I have AWD though so it keeps things together and let's be honest, the IS does a great job of communicating feedback so it's easy for me to tell when I've gone too far and I know when to let off the gas. Also, the trac control usually keeps me in check too.
