IS 250 2007 audio problems
Recently, when I started up my car, when i went to plug in my phone to the aux, the sound started crackling for a bit and then just shut off. The radio wouldn't work, neither would any sound now. The thing that sucks is my navigation unit doesn't turn on (had the DIY touch problem, tried to fix it and now its just a blank white screen), so I cannot check if it recognizes the phone, or if the audio is turned up or down.
What I DO know is that all the buttons on the nav works, so I can turn on auto climate, and AC off and so on. What I WANT to know is that do you think my amp blew? Would there be a quick fix, such as resetting the battery or something? And IF it IS the amp, I should probably invest in an aftermarket amp, and which one would you guys reccommend? Preferably under 200, and as minimalist as possible, I'd rather have it look exactly like the stock, nothing sticking out or anything in the trunk.
Any help would be appreciated, and thanks!

I dont think its the amp, the symptoms don't point to that at least. Did you run something other than line level into that aux jack?
Although I don't think disconnecting the battery will help, you have no reason not to try. I would be more concerned about the screen than the amp at the moment. Amps can be cheap, but as I understand it the nav screen is quite expensive.

I'm not too worried about the nav, because at least the buttons work and I'm not willing to drop over a thousand to replace it when I won't even be using it's gps functions, as I enjoy using my android more.
I haven't changed my battery in about two years, do you think thats the reason? I haven't plugged anything else into the aux yet, but theres no sound even when i try to change it to radio, or cd.
I forgot to mention, at the time it happened, the nav unit wasn't conntected because I was trying to fix it. But the bottom section was connected and was playing music just fine for a couple days before the incident in which it stopped working. I didn't mess with any wires when it stopped either.

For some reason it sounds like your amp blew. The pioneer (OEM Lexus) amps are known for blowing. Check your fuse box in the engine bay. There should be 2 fuses labeled amp1and amp2. These could be blown. If they blow again you may have a short in which case you'll need it fixed or buy a new amp.
I had my amp blow when I jumped the battery and the battery was bad. The radio controls would work along with the climate controls but no sound was coming out of the speakers. I traced it back to the amp which was shorted out.
Pm me if you have further questions.
