Default Spark Plugs Replacement

Hi guys,

Its my time to replace the spark plugs for my is250.
Since I am no expert in terms of automlbile, I cannot DoItMyself. I heard that if you were to buy the parts and just pay for the labor, it would be cost-effective.

So my question is is 6 Denzo OEM spark plugs all I need? Or do I need to purchase the manifold gaskets? Or etc?

get the right plugs from Lexus and the gaskets too. I don't know about the valve cleaning stuff, but for $55.00 may be worth it.

I have quoted my mechanic and he also recommends cleaning the intake valves and Combustion chamber for extra $55.

Is that reasonable? Also note that I am a bit beyond the recommendand mileage of 96000km. (Maybe the reason why he wants to clean the valves and combustion chamber?)

Thanks
There's actually a thread about the recall and even a DIY. I'd suggest purchasing it from Sewell or any dealership that's going to give you a discount on OEM parts. Someone on the DIY went with different spark plugs and all his lights went on and had problems.

As far as what else you'll need. You can get intake man. gaskets. You'll need 3, or the mechanic can clean the ones you have if it's not broken or really bad and slap them right back on. They cost about 5 bucks or less for one. Again check Sewell, i got mine from a local toyota shop, spark plugs and gaskets for about 100 with tax. Labor at the dealer will charge you about 400/500. Any OTHER mechanic will charge you about 300...because it's harder to remove and a tight fit in regards to the x50's engine.

If you have the whole "rattle during cold start up issue" you can see if they'll fix that and then let them know if they fix that, can they do your spark plug change. It'll save you the costs.
