Default Lexus Loaner vs. Deer

So my 2006 IS250 is at Johnson Lexus in Raleigh, NC to get work done on the carbon-buildup CSP. I was given a 2012 IS250 as a loaner. Just a few hours ago, I was only a few hundred feet from turning into my neighborhood when a deer decided to jump in front of me!

Well, the damage wasnt as bad compared to other deer-related accidents i've seen but it still blows. Passenger headlight, front grille, a little on the hood, slight damage to the passenger side of the front bumper. I can probably upload better pictures in the morning when there is light out.

Anyways, I called the police who agreed it was a deer from the dead carcass laying near my car! Also had a witness who saw the whole thing. No citations were issued. Just a police report.

My questions is...whose insurance will take care of this? When the police officer asked for my documentation, she just took my driver's license, the car's registration, and the car's insurance. I will be contacting Johnson Lexus tomorrow morning to see what they say.

Any ideas as to what will happen in terms of insurance?
Thoughts would be much appreciated!

Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

the loaner is owned by lexus (vs a rental) so dealership should be responsible for the damage, but will probably go through your insurance
poor car and poor deer :'(

I feel sorry for the deer

In Australia, we have kangaroos that jump across our roads instead of deers.

Yeah I just contacted Lexus. Just waiting for them to get back to me. I'll keep everyone updated as to the resolution.

See if you can keep that headlight and transfer your lens onto it. Then you can find another side for cheap

Since thd deer doesn't have insurance, than your insurance would cover this.

O.P. Sucks bro. I wonder if you would get to keep the lights and broken parts though since its going to be going through your insurance.

Lmao

It's probably gonna go through your insurance since you have to provide insurance when they loan it to you.
