Default Wtf, wrecked my car !!

So I was heading to my daughters cheer comp, looked down for one second to grab my vanilla chai and when I looked up I had 4 seconds to react and BAM. And the rest is history .. I think the sales manager jinxed me when I purchased it 2 months ago by saying. "As long as you never get into a accident you'll never have a problem with this car". I'm 36 and haven't had a accident in 14 years and I drive for a living , bummer!!

Btw, these cars don't hold up for nothing in accidents, I was only going 40 mph

These cars so hold up well, 40mph is pretty fast considering crash tests are done typically around 40mph. I don't know what you expected but everything broken there is intended to break. no steel bumpers these days.

Sorry to hear you wrecked hope it gets fixed soon! just got in an accident myself (rear ended), my car goes in Monday.

I wasnt't doing 40 on impact though, I immediately slammed on the breaks for about 10 feet probably bring me down to about 25 on impact, btw, no air bags when off

Sucks, but be glad you are okay after the incident. Looks like your IS dove under the Altima under heavy breaking, which would be why the rear of the Nisan looks better than the front of your IS. You pretty much scooped the rear of the Nissan. Best of luck with the repairs! I'm dealing with the same issue for my Accord after smacking a tractor trailer tire on the interstate a few nights ago. Sucks, but thankful no one was hurt. Keep it in perspective. So much more is important than the cars that we drive and love.............

"Only going 40mph"? Do you realize what kind of damage can occur going that speed into a stationary object?

I'd say you got off pretty good.

Your car held up exactly like it's supposed to, absorbing the impact for the passenger compartment. As slammer said, looks like your bumper (rebar) dove under his so your hood, headlight, & grille met his steel rebar dead on.

There was no need for the air bag to deploy on that hit. That is be design in case you were worried that your SRS system wasn't working properly.

Glad you're okay!

The driver side headlight has a crack in it but I don't know if they can just replace the housing or if they'll have to replace the whole system on that side. I would love to up grade to the Leds.

I would think if either headlights were damaged they would both be replaced. A good opportunity to upgrade even if you only had to replace one I would think.

Be wary, the LEDs are great but there is a currently bubbling issue affecting though (with a TSB) that doesn't appear to be resolved yet. Upgrading from the 2011s to the 2012s makes no difference. If you search you'll find a couple threads about it. I'm waiting until mine are unbearable before replacing because it's not truly gong to fix the issue.

^ and... that is not going to stop me from getting the headlights soon as they go on sale again i don't think it's going to be resolved. and 2012 supposed to be more bluish tint.
