Default Lexus Is 250 paddle shifter vs Bmw 328I paddle shifter

So I know that the lexus 2IS are not actual paddle shifters except for the ISF. However by any chance would anyone know if the bmw 328I are the same as the IS 250-350?

How on earth would the shifters from a different car made by a different brand from a different continent be the same?

The paddles from a 328i are very different. Standard 3 series paddles have capability to shift up and down from each paddle (I think it is pull for upshift and push for downshift). When in sport mode they act like shifters, not like the gear limiters in the isX50.

Paddle shifters generally keep the same core functionality no matter who makes it. Some do more or less than others though. The gear limiting effect of the x50 is an oddball one though.

In short, OP, they are different than the x50 but I don't know what the overall review of them are. For instance even though they are not hear limiters are they quick to respond or does the car simply ignore you for a second while it thinks about it. I know the M series is insanely good, can't say amount the 3 series though. Last I drove one it was very response and was better, but that's relative to the driver honestly. I think for what I do the x50 paddles do just fine.
