Hey guys I seem to be getting a whining noise when driving, its not overly loud but its enough that I can notice it. Checked the oil level which is fine, I don't think its the alternator as its been ongoing for 2 months with no charging issues, the only thing left would be the transmission fluid. I have a 2006 IS350 it has 128,000km on it. Is there a tranny service I should be getting done? Any help would be appreciated.

Can you get a recording of it?

I'll get one tonight and see if the it can be heard on the camera phone. It sounds like an alternator whine if that makes any sense, and more evident on start up, goes down in sound as the car warms up but can still be heard.

I just started a similar thread. Went to Lexus of Memphis and they diagnosed it saying my water pump was the cause of noise. It was leaking and has play in it.

I have an 06 is350 with 129xxx miles
