Chirping noise

Blowing out dust and lubing fixed it
Blew out the dust for a while then WD40. I had a chirp every time I turned the engine off, but now it's gone
I will post if and when I hear the chirping again. Hopefully never!
Update 11/9/13: No chirps

Did this today, but I used a waterproof sealer instead of wd40. We'll see how it hold up. I would always get a chirp when my car wants to stall in 1st/2nd(is250MT)

Hi all,
I have a 2011 is250 and is having the chirping issue.
I tried to follow clubfoot's instruction by taken off the alternator drive pulley plastic cover, but I noticed my alternator pulley is little shorter than the pic he has in the instruction. I didn't want to force the cap off just in case I might damage it.
does anyone have 2011+ and have done the instruction by clubfoot's?
thx

Have now done many of these, it is the pulley/clutch on the alternator. Have replaced with rebuilt alternator with new clutch/pulley. Noise gone every time and now alternator charging fine too.

The chirping noise is the beginning of the end of the clutch pulley and that usually takes out the alternator too by either under or most cases overcharging the battery, which in tern can damage the battery too. These clutch pulley's were designed to better fuel economy however they don't have a long life span...Hope this helps...

Thank you to this thread resolved my chirping in Reverse and Drive, cannot hear much while Park idle.
Was tough trying to determine if it was tensioner pulley or idle pulley, changed both idle pulley OEM and tensioner good after market. Idle pulley did have some play but didnt not resolve chirping.
When ahead with Denso replacement of alternator with decoupler and that solved the issue. There was a good amount of play in the decoupler pulley and cannot duplicate noise while the belt was off as it needed to be in gear and under load. Thank you to this older thread as I want to share with the community my resolution. Hope many of you have the simpler idle pulley issue without going the route of replacing the alternator.
