tire weight and "stickiness" affect performance. should be minimal difference you feel. just how tires affect braking they affect launch. but once your rolling it should be fine. im sure its just placebo affect. in an 1/8 mile different tires have only affected my times within 1/10 of a second. no wear near noticeable.

If you threw whichever set of round rubber things on the car with no regard to anything other than the width you shouldn't be surprised that the car lost "performance".
On the other hand, with no other information than what you were expecting versus what you felt after driving the first time you shouldn't assume the car lost or gained anything.
If you want some kind of objective opinion on what is going on you need to post up more information.

Wow I tell you one thing OMG the steering is so bad *** now with the 255's in the back
Set up is:
Rear 255/40/R18 yokohama YK580
Front225/40R18XL Falken Ziex ZE62 +
they feel faster now that I have broke them in. I remember that now when I put tires on my old 02 Mustang GT
