How often do you get your IS250 detailed?

When I got my car back Saturday I was amazed. I know I could never get the car to look like that without a lot studying technic and products. Well worth $150. hand wash , clay, polish, glaze, wax.. Windows, vacuum, dress leather and dash,clean door jambs. The owner of the shop said he put a wax on that's good for 6 months of protection but I'll probably go back mid winter.

This is really interesting. In my neck of the woods (So California) we have quite a few IS250's and only about one in ten looks like it's ever been detailed. Many are clean but not detailed as you folks are describing.
Perhaps many on this forum are more meticulous than owners in general.

Don't even think about letting the Dealer do the detail. Most of the time they scratch your car with their free car wash(which I always decline). Just keep it washed clean by hand washing it ,and use detail spray like Mother's. Once a year I use paste wax on it.

I wanna get mine professionally detailed but it cost hella extra $ , you do get carpets shampooed and leather stuff, but I think doing it yourself is better if you know what your doing! Wash,clay bar, wash again, wax. Then pull ten bad b****** after lol

I do a full cleaning once a week. That consists of wiping down exterior, all interior bits, door jams, wheels, inside wheel wells, and dustbust the carpet. Wax will be every four months. Leather treatment twice a year. Tire dressing every two months. Haven't clayed yet, but it's definitely due.
I've never washed the car, and haven't washed any car since the 90's. If it's raining, I'll try to drive another time or take slow side streets to keep the dirty spray down. Water does the most stripping of wax and aging of plastic and rubber pieces. Only downside to this is the tire dressing starts getting dirty and thick without water/spray periodically blasting it off. I'm still trying to find a way around this. SOS pad don't work and I don't like squirting any cleaners close to my rims.
