Hi guys. I'm new at club Lexus. I just wanna share some review of a exhaust mod on my girlfriend's is350.
I personally own a BMW 335i fbo. I'm used to hear some mean exhaust note. So I always thought that the IS is so quiet. I always asked her if she wanna upgrade the exhaust system. She always say no cus she hates noisy car. Anyway recently I started to look for a good sound exhaust for the IS. Hell no! All of the good stuff out there is around 1000 bucks or even more. We all know an exhaust mod won't give an IS much gain of horse. I don't wanna spend $1500 for the fsport exhaust and gain 5hp lol. I just want a little more sound. So today I stopped a local muffler shop and got the resonator and mufflers replaced by straight pipes and stock tips . Holy crap! It sounds like a super car. It's amazingly loud! I was pleased in the muffler shop. However after a 15 mins local and freeway drive, I went back. It drones like a crap. It's ridiculously annoying! It did sound mean outside, inside the car it's killing me. I asked them to put back the resonator and tried again. Wow I love it! It's as loud as a stock G37S or slightly louder. That's what I want. $140 total definitely worth it! For guys who want some more sound on their IS, go for it, muffler delete!

Thanks for the video and review! I have a muffler delete at the moment and I want to delete the resonator in the future. How much of a difference of sound in the cabin is just a muffler delete versus a muffler delete + resonator delete?

Trust me DONT do the resonator delete if you have muffler deleted. With both delete is way louder and drones crazy in the cabin. It sounds really annoying. Even I'm a big fan of loud exhaust, I just can't bear it. It's too too much, it also will catch cop attention. The good things are that it sounds really sick if you stand outside and it sounds like a v8 car.

For a couple weeks I had a full cat, muffler and resonator delete and the drone got so annoying. Put an aftermarket resonator and it sounds bad ***! Still running no cats

To get rid of the raspyness, get 2 of these welded in:

Looks like ****, take it back to the muffler shop and tell them to weld the inner hangers to the top of the pipe where it won't be visible from behind. My muffler guy tried to do that to me and I chastised him for that.

For the Neanderthals:

Chastised: To rebuke or reprimand severely.

For sure sounds better and deeper than stock 335i dude! I would say there is a little gain since two heavy mufflers are off kind of like weight reduction: )
