Default HID Problems

I have the OEM HID and the driver side recently went off so I bought a set of d4s bulbs from DDM to change it out. I changed the passenger side and it worked with no problems but the driver side would flicker for a couple of seconds and shut off. The aftermarket bulb ignition end on the driver side is burnt when I checked it out. I decided to take the OEM bulb from the working passenger side and it worked for in the drivers side... However, the passenger side with the DDM bulb is out now.. I'm not sure if I am having problems with the ballast or bulbs.

DDM tuning D4S bulbs will destroy you harness and plug. Trust me I've tried. I ended up buying Garax. 35w is what you need the DDM ones aren't.

Edit: I know cause I've encountered the same exact problem OP

If you're on a budget, Morimoto Xengreen D4S from theretrofitsource is great quality. Morimoto has great reviews and I highly recommend them

Stop using DDM bulbs! I had the same exact problem and it completely burned (literally) my ballast and they are a ***** to replace. I got HIDs from Xenon Depot and they work great no problem. When I told DDM (office is local to me) that their bulbs burned my ballast and cost me $90 to buy a new OEM ballast they were like mmm...never heard that happening before can't be our bulbs so I asked them if they are 35w or 55w bulbs and they were like they are 35w but can be used with 55w ballast. Which sounds sketchy to me. Spend some money to buy quality bulbs. It's definitely worth it!

patstar:I would check the ballast and bulbs again to see if it's not another issue. If its the bulbs than we do offer Philips D4S bulbs, Philips Ultinon 6000K D4S Bulbs and XenonDepot D4S bulbs as well.

If you use coupon code KBD4S you can save an additional $20 on XenonDepot brand bulbs.

Correction to my earlier post about staying away from DDM bulbs, I actually bought my new bulbs from Xenon Depot NOT IJDMtoy. I now have the 5000k D4S bulbs from Xenon Depot and they are awesome!
