Looking into an IS350
Hello everyone, i'm looking into a Second generation 2011+ Lexus.
Anyone have any goods or bads about this generation please comment below
I'm concerned of how the headlights look though(strip of led), versus the first generation.
Any comments or advice, please let me know!! Looking for a new vehicle asap.

2011 was the first year for led strip, compared to the 2012, the 2011 is a little more on the yellow side as the 2012 is more of a pure white. Both have bubbling issues and if you live in parts that snow and want to daily the car there's an awd trim, or you can get a set of snow tires for your rwd. There's a thread comparing the two. Other than that just do what you would do with your other cars, check car fax, service history, test drive, bring a mechanic in to inspect it etc.

If there are bubbling issues on the 11 headlights, you can get them replace for free to the 2012. Although, it doesn't fixed the issue entirely, as my replacement set has a bubble on the driver side already.
Just inspect the vehicle thoroughly, as not all incidents are reported to Carfax as I have learned. Take it for a test drive, you won't be disappointed.

I have the AWD trim, 2011 is350. Love it.
I do have the bubbling issue on mine. Haven't had them replaced yet. Going to wait until it gets really bad. I don't know of any other concerns really with the 2011+ models.

What is the bubbling on the led strip?
Can they be dimmed?
Personally how does it look? I've never seen it in action.
Any mechanical issues known that I should worry about?

If you are talking about the LED strips being dimmed, they are at 50% power form factory settings, Most members re wire it so that it gives 100% light output.. Personally I like it only when both the LED strip and the Lowbeams are on, compared to just the LED strip being on.
As for mechanical problems, there haven't really been a lot. Not sure if this applies to 2011s, but for the older models 06~10 the shocks were quick fragile as they were being blown anywhere from 10k ~60k miles, however its all under warranty so its easily replaceable. I replaced mine with Coils because 850$ for a set of coils Vs 450$ for 1 strut made no sense to me.
Good luck with your purchase.
