Default Is this a bad paint job or what?

Just got my car back from Sewell Lexus bodyshop the color was fine when I first pick it up because it was cloudy that day but when the sun hits it holy moly can you see the green or whatever color doesn't look professional at all looks like someone rattle can it. When they done they left polish mark all over the car also which **** me off and couple of scratch on the inside door panel on the black part.

did you make sure they were using the factory paint? This looks extremely off. Either your paint before is extremely faded (which i doubt, but possible), or they used the wrong paint.

Nope paint is same color all around 8ou. It look right in the shade but when the sun is shining on it you can see the defect.

It's not necessarily a defect, it's just that metallic flake paint is extremely hard to match...which is why resprays almost never match exactly. If you go to a professional paint shop, they always mix and shoot one single batch of metallic paint, because if you need to make more, it'll never come out looking identical to the first batch you sprayed (Even though it's the same exact color code).

The second problem is that when doing these types of resprays, the "correct" and more expensive way to shoot is to feather in the surrounding panels. If you just respray a fender or door and not feather in the surrounding panels, the human eye easily catches the color difference because it's broken up by a nice black line, which in this case is the door/fender gap. And yes, I would ask them to shoot this again and try to match the paint better.....AND feather in the surrounding panels. Good luck!

Is that even a factory color? I'm having trouble thinking of a factory color that would match that color with the pearl...but I'm at a loss here.

Default Bad Paint Job

The problem is that whoever did the paint job tried to butt match the two panels instead of blending them. With some of the modern metallics, the only way to get a color match is to blend them. No way would I accept that paint job. If you are dealing with an insurance claim, don't sign off on it. If the painter is who you are dealing with, he is doing unacceptable work. This is a common issue with painters who don't follow good procedure and blend panels.

depends what year your car is
if it's really old, your whole car could've looked just like the newly painted part when it was new
however over the years under the sun, metallic paint does fade and the colour slightly alters to a degree
not to mention you won't get 100% match on metallic paint as well

It's the angle u took the picture at but when you look at it straight on the color on bottom looks blotchy. And yes it's a 2007 but I baby my car so the paint in mint condition the paint color is 8U0 black sapphire pearl. And yes I do think it is the pearl because at one angle the paint does look like it match and at another angle the you can see its all blotchy.
