Default Does the IS have a JDM Name?

as stated above, something similar to a GS considered a Aristo, does the IS have a JDM name or no ?

to my knowledge no....my buddy has a RHD 09 in tokyo....badged as a lexus is250

Altezza, but after Lexus launched in Japan in mid-2005 they started using the same names as here.

1IS = Altezza in Japan
2IS/3IS = IS in Japan

Same goes for the Aristo, it's called the GS is Japan now.

All the names are the same globally.

An IS here is also an IS in Japan

Why the X though? It's not the motor number. So why is this different? Just curious.

Lexus decided to branch out pn there label in 2005 instead of being under Toyota. People use IS x50 I believe to hide if they have a 250 or 350 to keep the suspense no real reason behind it.

My interpretation of the is(x)50 abbreviation is/was that the x is used because most mods fit both the is250 and is350 so instead of labeling it as one or the other just saying something fits or works for the is(x)50 allows the is owner to be confident that a part or mod works for their car. I'm sure it works with the sellers.
