Default Roof Wrap

Looking to get my roof wrapped as soon as I get my windows tinted. Anything to look out far in terms of best material to use? I've seen some flat matte looks and I think some glossy looks (I like the glossy better).

Just wanted to know what to look out for so I don't get a bad job done. Checked with a few local places and from what I've seen on their sites they are pretty good at what they do. I'd do it myself but I'm too impatient to do a good job. Would rather pay someone to get it right the first time.

A roof wrap will really give your car a way more aggressive look! When I do roof wraps on the 2IS, I always remove the antenna so I can get a nice clean sheet of vinyl down without having to cut out holes for the antenna. Make sure they use legit quality vinyl like 3M, Avery or Hexis. Don't settle for cheap chinese vinyl wrap. Trust me... I know that crappy stuff will only last you a couple months before it starts drying and cracks all over the place.

It literally takes about 10 minutes to remove the antenna. Good luck and post pics!

Here's mine after I just got it wrapped (a while ago). They used 3M Di-Noc. Use good material when you're wrapping. The guys that owned the shop told me that it's well worth the money because the chinese CF after a while loses it's texture + will crack in high heat.

Hope it helps!

Is there a write-up or instructions on removing the shark fin? I'm thinking of wrapping my roof myself, but definitely want to remove the antenna first.

Second question, do you wrap the two side rails with the roof in one big sheet, or do you wrap those small pieces separately?

Thanks!

Heres pics of my roof wrap i did myself yesterday, i used Hexis gloss black vinyl. Will be wrapping the entire car in Hexis Pearls white.

Regarding the two rail pieces, take them off and clean them very well and wrap them separately. They are very easy to wrap, just cut a long strip and apply it.

Thanks so much for the info. The shop I'm looking at seems to really only use 3M material, which is what I was leaning on using.

It really does add an aggressive look, pictures to come next week. Once the tint is done I'm looking at coilovers and wheels/tires.

3M is awesome stuff. I used the 3M DiNoc Carbon Fiber Wrap and was very happy with the results. I wrapped the roof, as well as the roof molding (pooped them off and wrapped individual). I thought it came out really well and has a finished look. I have an 06 so I didnt have the shark fin issue.

Here is the only real pic I have, I also used the excess from the sun roof to wrap my interior trim.

Looks really good. How did you remove the roof rails? Is there a trick to them?

They literally just pop right off using a small flat head screw driver. Just be careful not to scratch your paint. They have clip like things on each far end of the strip.
