Default Velgen Vs. Niche wheels?

I'm in the process of buying rims for my MRM is350 and am in love with the velgen VMB5 in matte gunmetal. However, I went to discount tire today (cuz my buddy is the manager there) and he showed me some wheels by Niche M129 that look the same as the velgen but are about $500 cheaper. Was curious as to if anybody has Niche wheels as there is ton of support for velgen. Any input or opinions is greatly appreciated. I searched the forums and didn't find any thread over this but if there is one already please direct me. Thanks in advance.

I've never hear of Niche, but if they are that much cheaper then they almost sound like a knock off. Looking at their other wheels they resemble a lot of other brands, sounds like Niche is like Rota's lol. Heard a lot of good things abut Velgen, so I'd say just stick to what you know!

Niche has been around for years! It all depends on your style and budget on which you want.

Any pics of both rims you are looking at OP? It would help to see if there is a reason why one is so much cheaper than the other.

However, if both are quite similar and you don't mind one being a knock off or a knock off of a knock off, I'd say go with the Niche. Difference of $1000 is pretty substantial. Its always good to save money and you can use the money you saved for other mods or just for a rainy day.

I, myself have never heard of the brand Niche but that doesn't mean they are not good or legit. Just make sure the Niche rims are what you really want. Because you are the one who's going to be driving the car.

Good luck.

I've never liked Niche as a brand but they look pretty close. Up to you. Both are a cast one piece wheel.

Yea i saw his thread and his car is cleannnn I personally think the matte gunmetal looks sick with the MRM paint (when its cleaned and buffed). Right now im just worried about rubbing and want to avoid any and all rim gap between the rim and the tire

There is an avant gard (spelling?) and adv1 wheel that all look similar too.

I've never heard of niche, but I can tell you that Velgen has quality wheels and will stand behind their warranty, unlike some other wheel companies out there.

OP, as long as you get the correct tire size, you should not have any rubbing issues (depending on how low you go). Good luck with your purchase

I am looking at the 20x9 in the fronts with 245/30r20 hankook v12 and 20x10.5 in the rear with 275/30r20 in the rear. After seeing @giantsfan MRM with forgestar f14 im contemplating such an aggressive setup as his is clean and looks flush. ill check out avant gard as well! thanks!!!

Niche is manufactured by MHT. Same people who do (possibly did? O.o) ADV1s wheels.

For one I'll tell you this, it would not look good with 245/3" in front, that's too big of a tire...and will rub for sure if u lower it... Look towards 235/30 if u gonna lower it and it's not much of a stretch IMO
