Looking to do a motor swap in my IS350
So today a piston shot out of the top block cylinder 6. I have a 2006 IS350 with 76k on it and I just had a fresh oil change from Lexus. Anyone knows what could cause that to happen? Either way so now I'm thinking about doing a motor swap. What other motor can I put in the IS350 that will be easy to do or just stick with the IS350?

Stick with the 350 motor if you want everything else to work...I would be more into getting the dealer involved to get you some goodwill assistance with the repair (not saying that it is their fault this happened), as dealers can get the DFOM involved quicker than a call to corporate...

You're just out of the 70K, 6 year powertrain warranty. Before you do anything, I'd contact a Lexus dealer and if no help contact Lexus corporate for assistance. Such a thing should never happen at 76K miles.
This assumes, of course, that you have had all recommended services performed on the engine at the specified mileage intervals. Like Oil changes when required.

My engine on my IS350 blew up literally at 70,405 miles. But luckily, Lexus was more than willing to goodwill warranty the repair. Just make sure your car is stock and doesn't show signs of it being beat on. My car had body kit, wheels, intake, and exhaust. I bought it in like that but the techs removed some of that stuff for me cause an engineer from Lexus Corporate comes to look at the car too. That issue was fixed but now there's engine knocking last week so I bought it in again and the connecting rod bearings are bad and the techs are just going to try to get me a new short block and yes, I'm waiting on approval from Lexus for another goodwill.
Just bring it into Lexus and try to have them goodwill warranty it. I've tried to look up motor options too but there's not many options you have here to swap into the IS.

Well, not really. When I bought it in, the car was running but smoking and leaking oil all over. The tech said it was too dangerous to still drive the car so we pushed it in for him to work on it. The only damage was on the passenger side cylinder head. They replaced the passenger side head, all rocker arms, some valves/springs, camshaft, and timing gears since I had the rattle at start. But the car ran fine until I noticed a knocking sound a day or two after I got it back. Turns out the connecting rod bearings for the cylinders only on the driver side were bad which is odd since the damage was to the passenger side, they couldn't figure out why the cylinders for the drivers side would be bad when the passenger side were fine even though that was the bad side.

I'm wondering if there was any oil actually put into the car. That does not look like fresh oil at all anywhere near that engine.
