Talking Another New Member!

Whats up everybody!

Finally stepped up from my 2004 civic and got an IS350. I had a 07 is250 before but it was totaled when I got blindsided a couple years ago in an intersection...

She's completely stock excluding the tint but I do have some plans for her!

Tell me about it. It seems like 75% of the time I spot an IS in NoVA, its a 250.

Good choice!! IS350 isn't that common. I see a lot of IS250 AWDs where I am.

That percentage sounds close to right. According to production estimates from Lexus only about 20% of the IS built are 350. If you look at the IS 350 for sale within 75 miles of the northern Virginia area there are a total of 12 cars. There are 118 IS 250 for sale.

By comparison there are over 130 BMW 335 and over 800 3 series bimmers dating from 2006.

When I bought my 350 I compared it seriously to a 3 series and Mercedes C class. Comparing like mileage and features I could have had a 3 series for less than an IS. There are a number of factors for that, but one of them is supply and demand.

Since Lexus by all measures didn't seem to have a hard time selling the 350, so it must be assumed they intentionally kept production low. Not sure of why.

I have a SGM 350 and find it nearly as difficult to keep clean as black. I probably would have preferred silver, but it took me months to find a 350 of the year and mileage and features I wanted, so I grabbed it. The SGM is a beautiful color though.
