Default Abnormal Wear on Tires-2009 IS 250

Just bought a used IS250 from the dealership and after the first oil change and found out there is abnormal wear and tear on our front two tires. After going through this forum is seems as if there are a few other members having this issue as well. Just wanted to confirm the issue was an alignment problem. If it is, how often do you all suggest I get an alignmnent? Please help with any suggestions, as this is just a daily driver and I would like to avoid having the replace my tires every few months....

This whole problem really sucks as the dealerships isnt willing to cover anything even though we just purchased the vehicle 2 months ago and now we have to fork out the cash for brand new tires and an alignment.

ouch, for sure not normal. I would get the alignment checked. See if the dealer you bought it from can verify the alignment is in spec and if not re-align it.

Well the guy I bought it from can hook it up with 2 falken tires and alignment for $300 at a buddy's shop... I am hoping this is only an aligment issue and not something else.

I am also curious if i should invest in a lifetime alignment from Firestone

there is something seriously wrong with those tires or the roads you're driving on.

That isnt an alignment issue really... those tires are junk. The Michelin A/S tires seem to "chunk" like that, no matter what car they are installed on. I would replace them, and do an alignment, and move on.

NOW THAT is abnormal wear, and might not even be related to the alignment. Could just be craptastic tires and the PSI of inflation in them. BUT, I would however recommend replacing the tires ASAP and getting the alignment to cover ALL your bases. Also, before the alignment have those wheels removed and check the wheel wells for any debris that could cause tire rubbing on those tires.

GL!

Looks like a mix of under inflated soft compound Michelin tires and aggressive canyon driving.

i have the same tires and this never happened to me. i would recommend getting the lifetime aliment at Firestone, get new tires from Costco (if you have one in your area) because they cover damage like this if you have your aliment up to date( at 6 month intervals).

you should never see this on a tire. only small chunks will fall off once in a while because of road conditions.

Night

P.S costco will reduce the cost of the front tires because of the camber kit that is on our cars. i normally get the tires 50% off plus whatever the discounts are happening at the time.

thanks for all the replies everyone... **** has been stressing me out...

I am going to get the tires/alignment done this coming weekend. Was suppose to do it last weekend but got to busy.

But as some of you guys stated, this is super abnormal and some of you guys have not seen anything like this. Do you think I should be paying out of pocket to fix this when I just bought this car from the dealership two months ago?

It would not happen to be a CPO vehicle, would it?
