Should learn about rinseless washing

PM me if you'd like... It is a quick, easy, and safe way to wash your vehicle when it is not that dirty, and it uses much less water and takes much less time to do. It's how I maintain my vehicle for the most part.

Thanks for the heads up! I have actually read up on a lot of your guys' stuff of Detailed Image and it's become my one-stop spot for everything detailing. I'd greatly appreciate anything I could learn from you

We had a random rain shower over the weekend and the dirt left on the car warranted a full on wash. But i'm all ears man!

I believe the specs on those bronze Volk TE37's are 18x9.5 et22 on 215/40 and 18x10.5 et15 on 225/40. An educated guess.

If the place permits, bring a bucket and your own wash mitt. Be mindful not to hold up the line if there is one too so best during off hours. I would never use the brush at the coin wash unless you want some heavy scratches/swirls. Only used the sprayer at the coin wash to rinse off salt when i was in college and did not have access to a hose.

NEVER USE THE SCRUB BRUSH... no discussion needed... anyone who uses them should know better!

If you insist on thinking otherwise, here is real world proof by another professional who sacrificed part of his own vehicle to set the record straight on these awful car wash brushes.

If you're in a pinch, you can use the high pressure sprayers or touchless washes, but be aware of a few things...

1) The soap/cleaning solution used in the high pressure "wash" (coin op or touchless drive through) can be strong enough to degrade or completely remove traditional waxes or sealants.

2) The high pressure washes DO NOT remove all of the dirt and debris on the surface, so although your vehicle may appear clean afterwards, there are still particles on the surface. This is important because you should not simply dry the vehicle off afterwards as the remaining particles will act as abrasives in between your drying towel and the paint which will most likely lead to swirls and scratches. (This also means those full service washes that start with a touchless wash and finish with a nice employee waiting to dry your vehicle are a bad idea!)

3) Many coin op places will have a "spotless rinse" option which uses de-ionized water that will not leave minerals behind (ie water spots)... this is very important! If there is no spotless rinse option, the water is most likely hard tap water and can cause some pretty serious damage if left to dry on the vehicle.

I know this is not the detailing forum, so I won't go into any more detail, but if anyone has any questions feel free to PM me... I am a professional detailer specializing in high end services, specifically paint correction/restoration and ceramic paint coatings. You can also check out the Club Lexus Detailing Sub-Forum
