So im going on my 2nd pair of GARAX 6k HIDs within the past few weeks. I had to get new ones since one of my original GARAX bulbls from 3 years ago blew out. The first set I ordered, one bulb went out within 10 minutes of install, and the 2nd one last a few weeks before flickering and dying out. I contacted the vendor MTEC ligthing and they sent me another pair, after I sent them back my burnt bulbs.

I made sure it wasnt the ballast by moving the working GARAX bulb from 3 years ago to the other side and works fine, also even tried my OEM HIDs.

Now im more suspicious, I was closely examining this new set of bubls and noticed they looked used. The center part of the bulb has that burnt looked to it, also the box has the D4C crossed out with the D4S. My original set of GARAX from 3 years ago the box said D4C also the bulb said D4C, these new GARAX bulbs say D4S. Does GARAX even make D4S??? Notice at the bottom of the bulb it says D4S, my Original GARAX from 3 years ago say D4C, sorry no pics. The good one is still in use and I threw away the bad one. Any one have any inputs?

bought the same bulbs from that vendor few weeks ago. First and second set worked fine, but they have a yellowish hue to them which is not what i wanted. As of now im just dealing with it since its a pain to contact them and they have a 20% restocking fee.

Those are definitely not new. You can even see some rust forming on the base of the bulb.

GARAX makes D4S but those bulbs seem to have had some minor usage in the past. Maybe a returned set that was re sold to you? Or a set that was sampled?

Maybe they tested it before shipping to you? I always have the bulbs tested before ship

That "burnt look" is just salt deposits, the salts that produce light and color from the HID bulbs. That cannot be used as an indication of new or used bulbs, they all have it even when new. Philips, Osram, and GE bulbs have them new out of the package from what I've seen.

Well after taking out the bad bulb from the first set i ordered from MTEC, i saw that the bottom of the bubl was melted and burnt, and same with the connector. Surprisingly the 2nd set MTEC shipped me works, the ones that looked used in the pics above. I am getting tired of this, now I have to buy a new cable connector piece, and risk having a fire in my car. I looked up GARAX site to try and contact them about the particular vendor, but google translate didnt help much in the contact sectino of their pate.

Not sure how to go about this, MTEC said they would contcat the warehouse to see if they have seen this before, but i want a refund, and a new connector (or whatever its called) Should I call my bank or paypal to dispute this, if I do not see some compensation?

First pic is the burnt one, second is the one it should look like. This wasn't even the side that gave me the problem in the first place. So seems like i had a bad set.
