Default HID Foglight Conversion - NOOB question?

Hi CL,

Just a quick noob question, which I am sure many of you have heard before/or have seen posted over and over...

I am planning to have my 2011 IS 250 foglights converted to HID. I am not sure if I want to go 3,000k or 6,000k yet, but I am on OEM HID headlights. I was just curious if any of you had any issues as far as wiring...or is the install on it straight forward/plug and play type of deal?

Could anyone please direct me to any Links that may help me as far as install goes or any issues I might come across? I am just worried of Flickering, LED running lights, or even the HID headlights getting messed up or end up not working.

Thank you in advance, and sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section & not searching hard enough. .

Go with 3000K it has that nice yellow JDM look and it helps yoi really see better in fog. Any other K is just for looks and under fog will just add more glare.

I just bought and installed mine today bought it from ddmtuning.com for $29.99. All you haters out ther can hate but I have not had any issues with their hids.
They are all the same made in China unless u go for the real deal Phillips HID so for $29.99 they are a steal.

Btw install is very easy took me only 30 mins. U just need a 10mm socket and wrench to remove 2 screws under the panel, a plastic tab fastener remover for 1 and pull the plastic back and install. By the way this is per side. Good luck!

Its a 9006 bulb for the older fog lights but Sylvania states that for the 2011 it's an H11 bulbs for fogs if you look at the link I provided.

I would run a relay harness kit instead of utilizing the stock wiring.

06-10 uses 9006.

2011+ uses H11. I would go with a 6K kit from Xenondepot

I bought Kensun HID kits (From Amazon) for both my Low Beam and my Fogs and they have worked great for me. they are very afforadble and get pretty good reviews too. for the money you may want to look into them. I did this for my 2006 Is250. HB4 for fogs and H11 for Low Beams. i havent gotten any flicker or anything like that from them and it just plugs into the pre existing wireing harness. Looks like its a little different sizes for the 2011 though.

The bulbs seem to keep their color and last a long time too. I have a 2007 350z TT and replaced the HIDs in it with the Kensun brand and theyve lasted me for a couple years now. I hope this helps a little

IS250Fsport: If you plan on using your vehicle's auto headlight feature and leave your fog lights running then make sure to get an HID kit that has low draw ballasts. If you don't, you may run into issues with one light not turning on when the vehicle is starting. Take a look the XenonDepot Xtreme HID kit and let me know if you would like me to give you a call to discuss.
