Unhappy Good night Turned Into Bad.-- Tire/Rims Curbed

So, i came home from a awesome night and i ended up curbing the rims/tires bad. The front tire sidewall by the edge of the rim has a giant tear. No air leak which is really good news. Is there a way to fix that? I cant exactly afford a $200 tire at the moment and so my question is: Can the inside edge tire wall be repaired?

The amount of force that your tire experiences during turns and bumps will tear open any super glue

the rubber hasnt ripped off but its still on the tire, just so it would hold it in place a little bit.

Can't see the pics, but the general guideline is that if there is ANY puncture or rips in the actual sidewall of your tire, you will need to replace it, as any additional forces/pressure during cornering could result in structural failure (ie. blowout).

But from what it sounds like, you actually just ripped part of the wheel guard/protector - which is usually OK for driving.

Fix your picture links! We can be better help after that.

If you cant see any steel cords showing under the gash or rips on the sidewall, you'll be okay for a little while. That area is obviously a lot weaker now and any additional impact to that spot can result in a blow out.

Even if you super glued the piece back, that doesn't fix the structural integrity lost in the tire. You'd just be making it look "nicer". Buy a new tire, or risk it if you feel like its not too bad.

Pic's are now updated!

Also, I stopped by Walmart Tire Center (It's the closest to me) And they said that its fine, i could use gorilla glue to stick it back into place and shouldnt have any problems.

That looks okay I guess, but you shouldn't take it as a professional opinion on safety or assurance that everything is okay.

That actually doesn't look too bad - mainly just the rim/wheel guard. Notice how it's not deep, nor does the actual damage extend directly into the sidewall area. I would drive it for my daily commute + highway.

Furthermore I would get it checked at a tire center for a peace of mind, but I've seen that being glued back and was just fine for at least another 2,000 miles (note: get it checked, as this is just anecdotal evidence, and should not be taken as professional advice).

That doesn't look too bad, but it might just be the pictures. Take it to a tire shop as others have said just to make sure. I would probably just replace the tire just to be on the safe side. You don't want a blowout while you're driving it. Where in KS are you from?

Ouch, although the tear doesnt look so bad its mainly the excess for rim guard. But because its the sidewall u need to have it looked @ any reputable tire shop.

May i ask what happened? Good thing you and you car are ok.

Walmart Gorilla glue it back together? That would really do absolutely nothing except make it look pretty. The structural integrity in that one portion has been disturbed and no amount of gorilla glue will bring it back.

It's hard to see, but it doesn't look like you gouged it too hard and perhaps could be ridden on. But really, it's may be a safety issue. Dealing with a blow out tire is no fun. You don't have to pay $200 for a new tire... you can get a decent tire for about $120 just to get you by.
